Armenia

Armenia  officially the Republic of Armenia, is a landlocked mountainous country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Situated at the juncture of Western Asia and Eastern Europe,it is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and the  Azerbaijani exclave of Nakhchivan to the south.

A former republic of the Soviet Union, Armenia is a unitary, multiparty, democratic nation-state with an ancient and historic cultural heritage. The Kingdom of Armenia was the first state to adopt Christianity as its religion[8] in the early years of the 4th century  . The modern Republic of Armenia recognizes the exclusive historical mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church as a national church, although the modern Republic of Armenia has separation of church and state.

Armenia is a member of more than 40 international organisations, including the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the Asian Development Bank, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the World Trade Organization, the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation, and La Francophonie. It is a member of the CSTO military alliance, and also participates in NATO's Partnership for Peace  programme. In 2004 its forces joined KFOR, a NATO-led international force in Kosovo. It is also an observer member of the Eurasian Economic Community and the Non-Aligned Movement. The country is an emerging democracy. Armenia is classified as a country with medium human development and 10.6% of the population live below the international poverty line of US$1.25 a day.

Etymology of name

The native Armenian name for the country is Hayk. The name in the Middle Ages was extended to Hayastan, by addition of the Iranian suffix -stan . The name has traditionally been derived from Hayk , the legendary patriarch of the Armenians and a great-great-grandson of Noah, who according to Moses of Chorene defeated the Babylonian king Bel in 2492 BC. The further origin of the name is uncertain.

Charles Aznavour

Aznavour was born in Paris, the son of Armenian immigrants Michael Aznavourian and Knar Bagdasarian. His artistic parents introduced him to the world of theatre at an early age. He dropped out of school at the age of nine, already aspiring to the life of an artist. He began to perform at this time, and soon took the stage name "Aznavour". His big break came when the singer Édith Piaf heard him sing and arranged to take him with her on tour in France and to the United States.
Aznavour's voice lies in the tenor range, but possesses the low range and coloratura more typical of a baritone, lending to his unique sound.
Aznavour married his third wife, Swede Ulla Thorsell, in 1968. He has 6 children - Seda, Katia, Misha, Nicolas, Charles, and Patrick. He currently resides in Geneva, Switzerland.
Often described as the "Frank Sinatra of France", Aznavour sings mostly about love. He has written musicals and about a thousand songs, and made more than one hundred records. Aznavour speaks and sings in many languages (French, English, Italian Spanish, German, Russian, Armenian, Portuguese, Neapolitan), which has helped him perform at Carnegie Hall and other major venues around the world. He also recorded at least one song from the 18th century poet SayatNova, in Armenian. Que C'est Triste Venise, sung in French, Italian (Com'è Triste Venezia), Spanish (Venecia Sin Ti), English (How Sad Venice Can Be), and German (Venedig in Grau), is one of Aznavour's most famous multilingual songs.
Hi isbig man.

Hovaness Toumanian museum

Hovaness Toumanian was born on February 19, 1869 in one of the most picturesque corners of the northern part of Armenia , in the village Dsegh, Lori region. It was one of the auspicious days in that fate of Armenians.

He was born to become an embodied university, and embodied state and spiritual leader for his people which then had lost its statehood for six centuries.

This miseum was constructed in 1953 by architect G. Aghababyan commemorating the 30th year of Toumanian's death. The memorial part of the museum is a reconstruction of Toumanian's last apartment in Tiflis which was on theupper floor of Voznesenskaya Street. Toumanian lived there in 1909-1923. Nowadays, the apartment at that address is divided into two parts between descendants of Toumanian's elder son Moushegh and the

JAZZ

Jazz is a type of music and the only art from that was
created in the United States.Jazz was created by black
Americans. Many blaks were brought from Africa to
America as slaves. Different nativ songs were sung by the black slaves and the music of their homeiand was
played in America.By the 1920s,jazz was popular all
over the United States.
Seventy years ago, in 1938, the fist jazz band was formed
in Armenia. Although seventy years in the centuries-long
history of painting or architecture seem a split second ,we
should take into consideration the fact that as a ago , so
seventy years in the history of jazz is quite a long and
substantial period .
Though the joint efforts of the Armenian Jazz King , Levon Malkhasyan ,the director of the Armenian jazz orchestra , Armen Martirosyan, composers Konstantin
