Hovaness Toumanian museum

Hovaness Toumanian was born on February 19, 1869 in one of the most picturesque corners of the northern part of Armenia , in the village Dsegh, Lori region. It was one of the auspicious days in that fate of Armenians.

He was born to become an embodied university, and embodied state and spiritual leader for his people which then had lost its statehood for six centuries.

This miseum was constructed in 1953 by architect G. Aghababyan commemorating the 30th year of Toumanian's death. The memorial part of the museum is a reconstruction of Toumanian's last apartment in Tiflis which was on theupper floor of Voznesenskaya Street. Toumanian lived there in 1909-1923.
