Yerevan

The city was founded by King Argishti I of Urartu in 782
B.C.A. cuneiform inscription on a stone slab, found during
excavation within the city limits, reads: ''By the grace of God Chald, Argishti, the son of Menua, has built this
magnificent fortress and named it Erebuni in glorification
of the land of Biayna...'' Yerevan, one of the oldest cities
in the world, owes it's name to this fortress.
Yerevn today is the Republic's largest industrial centre with a great many electrical-engineering and machine- building enterprises.
Erevan is also a major cultural centre of the Armenia, with numerous museums, libraries and theatres, and very rich picture gallery.
Though one of the world's oldest cities,Yerevan is modern in the best sense of the word.Vast squares, broad avenues, green gardens and parks, and buildings of pink tufa.
THIS IS YEREVAN
